  The reason I just can't believe in god

  for the first time in ages though, i actually re-evaluated my position on god/wt.. i had attended a few funerals in the spring and had also reignited some friendships with people from the hall.

  but actually, i just keep going round in circles in my mind.

  i cannot back an organisation with such a flawed past and one that endorses such policies as shunning & blood.

  If you want to believe in God, read the bible.

  Many people who do exactly that, read and study the bible turn away in disgust and find such bible study to cement the view that there is no god, or if there is it certainly isnt the desert storm god worshipped by the Israelites.

  I have read the bible cover to cover 7 times.

  At about the 5th time, lost faith and became an agnostic.

  Now going on my 8th read my faith is rekindling.

  The desert God pointed to Jesus.

  Jesus is the answer.

  I spent 30 years denying God. Now in my twilight years, I see the light.

  Maybe someday you will see the light maybe you will never see the light.

  Maybe you will see a different light.

  One thing I know is many here do not know what I am talking about or understand.

  I'm Ok with that.

  I cant prove my believe and no one else can prove their belief or lack of belief.

  At the end of my belief is eternal life.

  At the end of non believers belief is nothing. Scientifically documented.

  Christians aren't the only ones "assured" of an afterlife/eternal life.

  Typical arrogant Christian thinking.

  I didnt say they were the only ones, I said they were assured of an afterlife.

  i just cannot begin to understand why any modern day half way intelligent person could believe in an invisible giant in the sky. its laughable. it all belongs in the past---when gods were invented to explain what they didnt understand at that time.

  I dont believe in an invisable Giant in the sky. I believe in a higher power in another dimension. One that science does not understand

  or acknowledge at this time.

  Good luck with being an atheist.

  Life is a journey, everyone dies, belief in God, the God of the bible gives, assures the hope of an

  afterlife.

  My advice is to think about the good things in life not the bad and rejoice to God for the good.

  In my opinion, God made the atheist as well as the believer.

  Life is hills and valleys ups and downs, enjoy the ride.

  If you want to believe in God, read the bible.

  If you dont want to believe in God commune with those who dont believe in God.

  Birds of a feather flock together.

  Christians are assured of eternal life.

  Atheist are assured of eternal nothingness.

  The choice is yours.

  the very first followers of jesus were drawn to him no doubt for a variety of reasons, but stayed mainly because they had taken on board the faith that he held.. they witnessed him and his faith in action, so they came to believe as he did.. long after his death, and the death of most, if not all, of those that knew him, this gradually transformed from holding the same faith as him, to having a belief in him.

  this resulted in claims for his divinity etc.

  my question to you is, is it not more important that you hold the same faith as he did, rather than the much vaunted belief in him, because you cannot be "in union" with him if your faith differs from his, surely ?.

  The faith Jesus had was that he was from God the father and he and God the father were one.

  John 5:24 says "anyone who listens to my message and believes in God who sent me has eternal

  life, wnd will never be damned for his sin, but has already passed out of death into life." Life Application

  Bible.

  i am sure most of you miss the sense of security regarding the future that the organisation offers- the certainty of everlasting life in the paradise earth, being healed and the confidence that you will definitely see your loved ones again if you remained faithful.

  but why did you pursue a course of life that had suddenly turned everything into a fable?.

  Zechariah Sitchin says Nibiru is talked about in the Sumerian text. He tells of it being on a 3 thousand plus

  year elipitical orbit. The last time it passed we had the biblical flood of Noah who the Sumerians called

  Ziusudra.

  I guess we have to hope this is another false alarm.

  I have been surviving the end of the world since 1975.

  I dont think there will be any upside or reward to being able to say I told you so.

  If the brakes are put on the earth and it starts spining the other way it will be cataclysmic,

  There wont be many people left to brag to, Chances are knowing its coming wont save many.

  The US government has bunkers under washington and in the mountains to save the elite.

  Cofty I dont see anything on their refuting the human skeleton found in the vein of coal dated millions of years old.

  And I dont see anything refuting the anciet painting of men and dinosaurs.
